Onboarding

Your first two weeks.

Week one

1. Collect your laptop from IT. It comes pre-imaged; do not reinstall the OS.
2. Accept the invitations to GitHub, the issue tracker, and the paging rotation tool.
3. Clone eng/monorepo and run make bootstrap. Expect fifteen minutes.
4. Read the deployment doc end to end. You will be asked about it.
5. Pair with your onboarding buddy on one small, real change and ship it.

Week two

1. Shadow one on-call shift. You are not paged; you watch how pages are handled.
2. Pick up a starter ticket from the good-first-issue label.
3. Present a five-minute "what confused me" retro to your team. This feeds back into the handbook.

Dev environment

make bootstrap      # installs toolchain, pulls simulator assets (~4 GB)
